Davos World Economic Forum

All great events are built around great food and when planning any event, we work closely with clients to help ensure the menus meet sustainability standards, whilst never sacrificing flavour, presentation and personal preferences. A good example of an entirely sustainable event we catered for, is Davos World Economic Forum which we have catered at for three years, and in 2020 delivered its first 100% single-use plastic-free kitchen.

The menus we designed over the course of the 6-day event were extensive. From delicious, easy-to-grab and continue networking food, all vegan options, as well as cocktail receptions, roundtable lunches, formal sit-down and off-site dinners.

Everything down to our cling film and piping bags were fully compostable, meaning no waste went to landfill from our kitchen all week. All meeting room snacks were prepared on-site and served in the form of a ‘micro kitchen sweet shop’ from Kilner jars. Guests could treat themselves to homemade marshmallows and fruit juices. Reusable ceramic dinner boxes were used, our staff used the train to travel to and from the event and all food waste was donated to a local charity. Leftover ground coffee was also kept for Bio-bean fuel, the UK’s largest recycler of coffee grounds and a Certified B Corp™, renewing them for reuse invaluable products to benefit both people and the planet.
