Venue Spotlight: Battersea Arts Centre

There are venues, and then there are venues with real soul. Battersea Arts Centre is firmly in the latter.

Set inside a beautifully restored Victorian town hall, BAC is one of London’s most characterful event spaces. From the grandeur of the Grand Hall to the more intimate corners of the building, every space feels atmospheric and full of story. It has that rare balance of being impressive without ever feeling overly formal.

What we love most about catering here is how versatile it is. The space can completely transform depending on the brief, making it just as suited to creative brand events as it is to relaxed, personality-filled weddings. It gives us the freedom to really bring menus to life in a way that feels considered and a bit unexpected.

One of our favourite weddings at BAC was Alexis and Rick’s. It was a day that really embraced the venue’s playful energy. Guests moved through the building as the day unfolded, starting with a drinks reception before heading into the Grand Hall for a wedding breakfast designed around sharing and a sense of fun.

Canapés set the tone early on, from crispy chicken tacos with avocado mousse to our signature tomato trees, where heritage tomatoes filled with burrata were served hanging like edible installations.

For the main course, the couple chose a nostalgic British classic with a twist - his and hers pie and mash, paired with craft beers they had personally selected. It was comfort food, elevated, with generous sharing sides and plenty of gravy.

Dessert brought a real moment of theatre, with our edible garden served to the tables. Chocolate soil, meringue mushrooms and watering cans filled with sauce made it something guests could explore and share together.

The evening continued with doughnuts, bao buns and a packed dancefloor as the space transformed once again for the party.

BAC also works brilliantly for larger-scale events. For Action for Children, we delivered a 300 guest dinner that really made the most of the venue’s dramatic setting.

Guests were welcomed with theatrical canapés served on hanging displays and vintage boards before sitting down to a seasonal, produce-led menu.

Coal roasted leeks with artichoke velouté were followed by a rich duck pithivier, and dessert was served by candlelight on candelabras for added impact. With larger numbers, the flow of the space becomes key, and BAC allows for that seamless transition from reception to dining to after-party without losing atmosphere.

Battersea Arts Centre is more than just a backdrop. It becomes part of the experience. The flexible layout, the creative energy and the sense of history all come together to create something that feels genuinely special. For us, it is a venue that invites creativity and always delivers something memorable.
